Walking on the street, you'll often see fruits hanging on the trees along the sidewalk. I have seen bananas, papaya, mango, and this one - jackfruit.

This is pork ear. We found them in Spain. It is commonly eaten throughout east and southeast Asia. It has a rough chewy texture, but when put with the right flavor, it can taste absolutely incredible.

Jellyfish

Jellyfish is a unique and somewhat unusual ingredient that is often used in Asian cuisine.

In Vietnam, a dish made with jellyfish is "goi sua", which is a salad made with shredded jellyfish, fresh herbs, and a spicy and tangy dressing made with fish sauce, lime juice, and chili.

In China, it is often made into a cold, refreshing appetizer, sometimes with thin cucumber slices, mixed with minced green onion, salt, and sesame oil.

In Japan, jellyfish is often used in salads and is known as "kurage". The jellyfish is typically marinated in a sweet and tangy dressing made with soy sauce, vinegar, and sugar, and then combined with other ingredients such as cucumbers, sesame seeds, and shiso leaves.

In Korea, a popular dish made with jellyfish is "haepari naengchae", which is a spicy and refreshing cold salad. The jellyfish is sliced into thin strips and mixed with a spicy dressing made from gochujang (Korean chili paste), vinegar, sugar, and sesame oil, and then served with sliced vegetables.

Jellyfish has a unique texture that is slightly crunchy and chewy, some people describe it as "chewing crispy water", and its mild flavor allows it to easily absorb other flavors and seasonings. Whether you try it in a salad or as a cold appetizer, jellyfish is definitely worth a try if you're feeling adventurous and looking to expand your culinary horizons.
