How Food Travel

It is always interesting to try new fruits when I land in a country for the first time. I found fruits and many other food traveled just like people did.

Fruits - Central America --> Vietnam

Originally from Central America, Sapodilla, Star Apple, and Guava are among many fruits brought to the Philippines by the Spanish colonists. They later came to Vietnam.

Did the method of preserving meat traveled? Or three countries independently developed their own methods?

The History of Churros

We found churros in many countries we have visited - Spain, Portugal, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Mexico, Turkey, and Vietnam. People believe they were invented in Spain or Portugal, or they may even have gotten the idea from China, and were later brought to Central and South America.

Fried dough is a very straightforward food idea and it seems people in different countries have tried their own take on it.

What do you think?
